Acts 4 is a story of great reversal. The religious leaders appear to be in control, yet they are powerless. Peter and John are arrested, yet they speak with freedom and boldness. The rejected Jesus has become the cornerstone. By God’s Spirit, Peter is freed from the old categories of success, failure, power, and security. He no longer has to judge his life by what appears to be happening in the moment. That same Spirit frees us to stop judging our unfinished lives and trust God’s unfinished work in us.
